As the eighth-largest school district in the United States, the Houston Independent School District (HISD) bears a significant responsibility in shaping the future of our nation's youth. This responsibility is further amplified by the fact that nearly 80% of our students are categorized as economically disadvantaged.

Since 1994, the Houston Independent School District Foundation has been connecting the philanthropic resources of the fourth-largest city in the nation with district stakeholders to increase opportunities for students and ensure their success.
